Peek Materials
Polyether ether ketone (PEEK) is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic material that is one of the most popular high-performance plastics with an excellent resistance to high temperatures of up to 180° C. Despite its low weight, PEEK has a long service life. It has only 1/5 to 1/6 of the weight of metal.
The excellent mechanical strength and dimensional stability as well as the low weight of the material enable the production of parts with low weight and increased durability. Properties such as low thermal expansion and moisture absorption as well as a very high temperature resistance round off the whole thing. PEEK withstands temperatures up to +300° or -100°.
PEEK is used for implants, guide rings, ball valve seats etc.
