PTFE Materials
Polytetrafluoroethylene, or PTFE in short, is a milky white semi-crystalline thermoplastic. With its outstanding properties PTFE belongs to the group of high-quality engineering plastics. Due to the extremely strong fluorocarbon bond and the very high crystallinity compared to other plastics, PTFE has exceptional resistance to all types of chemicals. Up to temperatures of 300 °C it remains insoluble in all known solvents. Thanks to its thermal resistance in the range of -270 to +260 °C, it can also be used without any problems in applications subject to thermal stress.
With its wide range of properties, PTFE plastic is a sought-after material in apparatus and mechanical engineering. When used in containers or seals, its chemical resistance is also valued at high temperatures.
